Services
Iden Tree Service provides professional tree care throughout Muskoka Lakes, Bracebridge, Huntsville, Lake of Bays, and the surrounding Simcoe-Muskoka area. Removals and pruning make up most of what we do, from residential properties with plenty of room to work to tight lots and island properties where access and rigging take a little more planning. We’re fully insured, every job is handled by an ISA Certified Arborist, and we clean up properly before we leave.
Removals
Hazard trees, trees too close to the house, and anything that needs to come down in pieces. We climb and rig from the tree, so there's no equipment driving across your lawn to get it done.
Pruning
Deadwooding, clearance from roofs and wires, view pruning, and structural work on younger trees. Proper cuts are made to keep the tree healthy and prevent further damage.
Storm Damage
Trees on roofs, hung-up limbs, and blowdowns blocking driveways. These are the jobs where cutting in the wrong order makes things worse, so call before anyone gets under it.
Tree Risk Assessments
Written reports on tree condition and failure risk — for your own decision-making, for an insurer, or for a municipality. Includes what's wrong, how likely it is to fail, and what to do about it.
Lot Clearing
Building sites, driveways, and opening up overgrown properties. We'll work to a marked line and leave what you want kept.
Crane Removals
Some trees are too big, too dead, or too close to the cottage to climb safely. A crane lifts sections straight out over the roof instead of rigging them down through the tree, which means less risk and lower costs on long jobs. Good fit for large removals in tight spots, and for anything decayed enough that climbing it is a bad idea. We'll tell you when a crane is worth the cost and when it isn't.
Winter & Island Work
Winter is a good time for tree work in Muskoka. Frozen ground means no ruts in the lawn, and ice access makes island and shoreline properties reachable without a barge. Brush gets burned on the ice instead of chipped and hauled. We do Island work and are SVOP certified through Transport Canada.
Wood Chipping
Brush is chipped on site. Chips can stay for trails and beds, or get hauled away. Firewood-length rounds left stacked if you want them.
Cabling & Bracing
Hazard weak tree needs to come down. Codominant stems, splitting unions, and heavy limbs over a roof can often be supported instead. Cabling in the upper crown limits how far the stems can move, and through-bolt bracing holds a union that's already cracked. Good option on a mature tree you want to keep.
Log Splitting
We can split rounds into firewood on site using a Split-Fire splitter, on wood from trees we've removed. It's quoted separately from the removal and priced case by case, so ask when you book if you want it included.
Arborist Reports
Written documentation from an ISA Certified Arborist for permits, building and septic work, property sales, and insurance claims. Species, size, condition, and the reasoning behind the recommendation, in the format the municipality or insurer wants. Site visit, then the report by email.
Permits & Applications
Some Muskoka properties need a permit before a tree comes down, and the rules vary depending where you are. We can tell you if your job requires one.
